MCO Environmental, Inc., was hired by the United States Department of the Interior, National Park Services on September 2001 to conduct a limited remediation of a site presently known as Patton's Pit. The site is located within the Big Cypress National Preserve in Ochopee, Florida. Under this contract, MCO Environmental, Inc. was hired to perform the following tasks: 1. Mobilization and establishment of grid system. 2. Water, soil and sediment sampling as per table 3-1 ofthe E & E Report, page 3-2. 3. Digging eleven test pits to a maximum of 2 ft. below ground water level. 4. Disposal of up to 4large trucks of non-hazardous materials, debris and trash. 5. Report and three copies documenting the approach, sampling results, disposal and further recommendations. Exclusions: a. Removal and disposal of any hazardous materials. b. Exploring bottom of pond for presence of junk equipment and/or vehicles and the use of divers.
