From the Executive Summary: This report focuses on the history of Isle au Haut, a rocky 12.5 square mile Island sitting on the coast of Maine. In particular, this report presents a thematic overview of the history of that portion of the Island sitting within Acadia National Park. While the research embodied in this report was informed by published and archival documents, this study has emphasized the recollections of individuals associated with this community who are knowledgeable about local history.
