A resource stewardship strategy is a National Park Service program plan that includes strategies for managing natural and cultural resources at a national park system unit. It is based on science and scholarship and is designed to achieve and maintain desired conditions for resources. The desired conditions for resources are generally described in a unit's general management plan and refined in the resource stewardship strategy. A resource stewardship strategy is a link between a unit's general management plan and strategic planning for the unit, where personnel and financial resources are allocated to implement stewardship activities.
