In this study, three future climate scenarios were selected for Yosemite National Park from a set developed by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, to span a broad range of scenarios from “small change in human behavior” (high CO2 and hot, dry future) to “aggressive mitigation response” (moderate CO2 and slightly warmer, slightly drier future). The DGVM MC1 model was used to predict vegetation shifts, carbon cycling, and fire dynamics in the Yosemite Park region through the end of this century.
