The object of this study is to determine the presence and extent of mercury contamination in brook trout within Shenandoah National Park and also to determine if mercury contamination poses a threat to humans or fish populations in the park. Mercury from fossil fuel combustion has led to increased concentrations in freshwater systems and biota even in remote, relatively pristine areas. (PMIS 93874)
