From Sections of the Report:“Porphyra umbilicalis samples from Nubble light (Kittery, Maine) Reid State Park (Georgetown Island, Maine), and Schoodic Point (Winter Harbor, Maine) have been genotyped fro eight microsatellite loci…..At this time, 64 individuals have enough data to be reliably genotyped. These include 25 individuals from Nubble Light, 17 individuals from Reid State Park, and 22 individuals from Schoodic Point………Schooidc Point Individuals were largely genotype A, which was found in 63% of the individuals surveyed. Genotype A was also the most common genotype in the Nubble Light population. The universal genotype was found in about 18% of individuals surveyed. Three other genotypes made up 9%, 4.5%, and 4.5% of the population respectively. Schoodic Point is the only population surveyed that did not have a private new allele and may thus represent a single private genotype.”
