From Official Introduction: “From June-October 2012, I conducted a prototype rephotography project of Maine coastal islands using photographs from Paul G. Favour’s 1968 study “Justification for offshore Islands: Acadia National Park.” This project was conducted under the supervision of Abe Miller-Rushing through the archives at Acadia National Park Headquarters in Bar Harbor, ME.” The report continues to explain the rationale, methods, results, and recommendations. In summary the project was successful at measuring some geological and vegetative changes, but photo location and equipment changes proves to make some of the rephotography not reliable in gauging quantities of fishing gear and marine debris near islands. It is noted that a more comprehensive project would be useful for studies of morphological, geological, and vegetative changes, but would not be useful in surveying fishing and other marine variables.
