Data analysis of exotic species occurrences on the Blue Ridge Parkway-report prepared for the Appalachian Highlands Inventory & Monitoring Network

Lyons R. 2007. Data analysis of exotic species occurrences on the Blue Ridge Parkway-report prepared for the Appalachian Highlands Inventory & Monitoring Network. Durham, North Carolina

A preliminary report on modelling of invasive species occurrence to optimize efforts at early detection of exotic species invasions on BLRI. During project planning, park managers expressed interest in focusing monitoring on entry points of invasives, whether that be agricultural land adjacent to the Park or roadways and power lines that facilitate the spread of invasive species. This analysis supports this goal by quantifying the role of those factors, and guiding placement of monitoring sites based on their relative contributions.
