Following from the Summary and Recommendations: “July carriage road visitation in 2011 was the busiest we have seen yet, with 58,228 estimated visits. Mean daily use also reached its highest level, estimated at 1,878 +/- 114 with a 90% confidence interval. August carriage road visitation was second only to 2010 with 63,432 estimated visits. Mean daily use for August was estimated at 2,046 +/- 224 visitors and fifteen days exceeded 2,00 visitors per day. Mean daily use for the past six Augusts have been consistently higher than most previous years. Regression analysis now shows a statistically significant upward trend for July and August carriage road visitation since 2004…. Given the substantial increase in carriage road use over the past eight years and the violations of several behavior standards in 2010, the management response from 2010 to address problem behaviors should be continues and probably increased…” From Official Introduction: "…This Report covers monitoring results for crowding in 2011.
