Employ trained volunteers to systematically monitor common loons occupying lakes within Glacier NP. This program was created in 2006 to address the need for research on Common Loons, a priority species due to their vulnerability to climate change impacts. Primary goals are to establish baseline data on to monitor long-term loon population status, to detect changes in distribution, long-term trends, and climate change impacts.
