From Executive Summary: “In 2012, we determined that increases in carriage road use reported since 2006 are likely the result of the introduction of the Bicycle Express route to Eagle Lake in the same year. Up to 350 bicyclists are dropped off at the Eagle Lake Boat Launch each day increasing counts at the trail counter nearby. It is uncertain what effect this may be having on the standards established for crowding and behaviors. A new set of carriage road censuses is needed to develop an updated regression which will be applied to use estimates from 2006 on and compared with earlier regression estimates. These are planned for 2014.” The report includes data analyses for previous years in several tables and graphs, as well as more in-depth discussion of the issues.
