From Official Introduction: “This report is for and about organizations in the Northeast who engage in conservation and education for sub alpine and alpine summits. It is a snapshot of activity, philosophy, and management. Its design is driven by the needs and wants of the participants…. During the site visits information was gathered in the following sectors: Education and Public Contact Protocol, Scientific Study and Research, Trail Work and Restoration, Volunteer Programs, and Communications. At the request of the participants, I also collected information on steward recruitment, pay, uniforms and management. This sharing out will provide a napshot of stewardship in the Northeast, raise awareness of the significance of communication and culture within ecological stewardship programs, and spark a discussion about improving information sharing across the network.”
