A moose population survey was completed in the middle and lower Noatak Riverarea during late March and early April. The survey was conducted by the AlaskaDepartment of Fish and Game(ADF&G) with financial support fromthe Western ArcticNational Parklands and personnel support fromthe Selawik National Wildlife Refuge. The objectives of the survey were: 1) To estimate the abundance of moose 2) To determine calf recruitment 3) To compare density of moose between “core” and“expanded” survey areas
