Adults of Bogatia appalachia n. sp. are described from interstitial water in gravel deposits associated with small streams in Great Smoky Mountains National Park in the southern Appalachian Mountains of the USA. This is the first species of the genus Bogatia and the subfamily Bogatiinae to be reported from North America.
