Fire effects monitoring data collected at Canaveral National Seashore in Central Florida. The data were collected during 12 field seasons by the fire effects monitoring crew out of Everglades National Park. Data collected from 50 x 20 m forest plots include tree inventory to obtain density and basal area and snag dynamics, seedling density. Fuel load using Brown's method for inventorying surface fuels and biomass was collected until 2006. Starting 2006 line intercept methods were employed to assess relative vegetation cover and open space within plots. Photographs are taken from four points facing the center of the plot to document change. Data collected from shrub and/or grass transects are 15 meter line intercept data to obtain relative and percent cover and open space. Oak density data is measured at 4 points along the same transect. Photographs are taken from each end of the transect to document change.
