Our hypothesis was different owl species would announce/defend their territories with vocalization when prompted with a call back. The data collected on the Parkway supports our hypothesis. Surprisingly, Northern Saw-whet Owls had the highest percentage for call backs at 17.54%. Barred owls were next most common at 10.53%. Screech owls were third with 8.77%. Surprisingly, Great horned owls were the least at 1.75%. Four figures of data are provided.
