Modeling of multiple factors, including human settlement and landscape potential to support grizzly bears across SE British Columbia and SW Alberta, that is based on 1996-2012 grizzly bear population survey data. Grizzly bear mortality incidence is analyzed and spatially predicted through modeling. Behavioural response to humans and habitat is evaluated based on GPS and VHS -instrumented bears. Seasonal use and core habitats adjacent to Canada Highway 3 are inferred from modeled data. Finally, the cumulative human impacts to grizzly bear landscape effectiveness, connectivity, and security are spatially and temporally projected.
