Hiking Trails in Glacier National Park, Montana (January 2014)

2014. Hiking Trails in Glacier National Park, Montana (January 2014). Glacier National Park

This data set contains the designated trail network within Glacier National Park, Montana. These data represent the latest revision to official and mapped hiking trails in Glacier. The data set is based on USGS 7.5 minute topographic mapping published in 1968. Since 1997, Glacier National Park staff have re-mapped much of Glacier's 700+ mile trail network using Global Positioning Systems (GPS). Additionally, rectification of vectors was accomplished selectively using various ortho-rectified image data sets (e.g. NAIP, ESRI World Imagery) based on ground conditions from 1990 - 2013. The particular imagery is cited in the source information contained within ArcGIS metadata.
