Fire effects monitoring data were collected at Russell Cave National Monument by the Natchez Trace Fire Effects Crew. The field season for this park is spring. Plots consist of 50 X 20 meter forest plots. Data is collected to obtain density and basal area of overstory and pole trees, fuel load using Brown's method for inventorying surface fuels and biomass, herbaceous cover and diversity as well as shrub density. Photographs are taken from each end of the transect to document change.
