Norbeck Ridge Fault and Landslide Study, Badlands National Park, South Dakota

Baldauf PE. Norbeck Ridge Fault and Landslide Study, Badlands National Park, South Dakota. Research Permit and Reporting System

The project team received a Nova Southeastern University faculty grant in the Fall of 2013 to support an expedition to the Badlands National Park. The goal of the expedition was to determine the timing and the mechanism for the landslide located near Norbeck Ridge in Badlands National Park. Based on reconnaissance of the area in 2009, we hypothesized that motion along a fault near Norbeck Ridge may have triggered the slide.
