Effective Pollinators of Rare Plants in the Northern Chihuahuan Desert

Poole J and Hoyt CA. Effective Pollinators of Rare Plants in the Northern Chihuahuan Desert. Research Permit and Reporting System

In order to determine effective pollinators, floral visitors to Brongniartia minutifolia were documented. B. minutifolia is considered a Species of Greatest Conservation Need by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Floral visitors included bees, butterflies, and wasps although none appeared to be particularly effective pollinators as fruit set was very low in the spring of 2013.
