Use of remote sensing to quantify border impacts from 2002 to 2007 at Coronado National Memorial

Lloyd B. 2007. Use of remote sensing to quantify border impacts from 2002 to 2007 at Coronado National Memorial

This study examines the network of trails at Coronado National Memorial in southern Arizona adjacent to the U.S.-Mexico border. The goal of this study is to concentrate on using remote sensing techniques to detect the aerial linear extent of trail networks created by undocumented immigrants and drug smugglers in the Coronado National Monument. In addition, this research uses repeat imagery from 2002 to 2007 to quantify change in immigration patterns due to the current Department of Homeland Security (DHS) infrastructures in the park.
