Barking frog monitoring at Coronado National Memorial 2009
Prival D. 2009. Barking frog monitoring at Coronado National Memorial 2009. Southwestern Ecological Research Company. Tuscon, AZ
Montezuma Canyon, located in Coronado National Memorial, is home to a relatively large population of barking frogs, a neotropical species with a small U.S. distribution. Due to its relative rarity, monitoring barking frogs is a top priority for managers at the park. At the beginning of the monsoon season in late June 2009, we initiated a pilot study to test the efficiacy of using site occupancy to monitor barking frogs in the canyon.
