The Mud Banks of Florida Bay: a Geological and Ecological Education on Origins and Dynamics

Wanless HR and Crevello PD. The Mud Banks of Florida Bay: a Geological and Ecological Education on Origins and Dynamics. Research Permit and Reporting System

The trip examined the surface morphology and internal stratigraphy of the vast carbonate mud banks of Florida Bay. To do this we examine the influence of major controls on sedimentation, including pre-existing topography, physiographic setting, hydrography, climatic setting, tectonic setting and sea-level history. All but sea-level history vary progressively from south Florida southward through the Bahamas to Caicos Platform.
