In 2013, 847 Laricobius nigrinus larvae and 285 adults were recovered in 2013; no S. tsugae or S. sinuanodulus were recovered in 2013. L. nigrinus beetles were found dispersed throughout a 17 mile stretch from the Delaware Water Gap near Stokes State Forest to north of Buttermilk Falls. The number of beetles recovered represents the highest total of hemlock woolly adelgid predators ever recovered in any one year and is higher than the cumulative total for all previous years combined.
