During the period of Oct. 22-26, 2013, approximately 20 well-known professional and amateur mycologists from many areas within the US participated in a conference at the Shepard of the Ozarks conference center with the intent to collect macrofungi and other fungi within the boundaries of the Ozark National Forest and the Buffalo National River. The areas within the Buffalo National River that were visited Tyler Bend Visitor’s Center, Buffalo Point Ranger Station and Rush Landing.
