Thesis submitted to the graduate division of the University of Hawaii in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Science in civil engineering. A small, radio-controlled boat was developed and field-tested to gather data on salinity, temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH and oxidation reduction potential in Kaloko Fishpond during all tidal conditions; results are presented in numerous color graphs. Vigorous photosynthetic activity was observed in the pond, but critical data on salinity and dissolved oxygen at shallower depths were unreliable, due to the craft's difficulty navigating shallower areas of the pond.
