STREAM FISH AND AQUATIC HABITAT SURVEYS, KVICHAK AND NUSHAGAK RIVER WATERSHEDS
STREAM FISH AND AQUATIC HABITAT SURVEYS, KVICHAK AND NUSHAGAK RIVER WATERSHEDS. Research Permit and Reporting System
In August 2013 we extensively and intensively sampled streams tributary to the Kvichak and Mulchatna rivers and to the southwestern half of Iliamna Lake to provide data for spatial models. We made systematic fish collections at 167 locations yielding 21 species and a total of nearly 12,000 individual fish. Our observations yielded 21 nominations submitted to the Alaska’s Anadromous Waters Catalog; including 100s of kilometers of previously undocumented salmon spawning and rearing habitat.
