This research was designed to assist GNP managers to better understand the needs and preferences of park visitors. Such understanding is an important component of designing management programs that will protect the values and resources in the Park, yet provide opportunities for enjoyment of them. The study addressed three fundamental questions: (1) what threats to a quality experience do visitors encounter; (2) how do visitors respond to crowding and congestion; and (3) how do visitors respond when Park conditions do not meet their expectations.
