Survey of Lepidoptera and Odonata at Kings Mountain National Military Park

A survey of both Lepidoptera and Odonata was conducted within Kings Mountain National Military Park (KMNMP) from April 2006 through July 2009. The initial year of this survey was supported with funding from Clemson University’s Creative Inquiry program, and the remaining time through funding from the National Park Service through the Park. We conducted 7 two-day surveys and 3 additional single-day surveys between April 2006 and July 2009. Two-day surveys included ultraviolet trap collections of moths as well as daylight sampling of butterflies, dragonflies and damselflies. On single-day surveys only butterflies, dragonflies and damselflies were sampled.
