The Shellwatch project is a pilot study of populations of 4 species of large, predatory gastropods that live on the grassflats that border the northern shoreline of Sanibel Island, Florida. The purpose of the work has been to provide baseline information on the current status of these ecologically important mollusks so that any future changes in this unique resource can be detected.
