Hematologic Values for Dieldrin-treated White-Tailed Deer in Missouri

Hemograms were determined for 46 white-tailed deer, 1 to 3 years of age, fed diets containing 0, 5 or 25 ppm of dieldrin. No significant defferences were found in the hemograms as a result of feeding various levels of dieldrin. Increased age resulted in significant changes in white blood cell counts, packed cell volumes and hemoglobin concentrations. A significant sex difference in mean red blood cell volumes of yearling deer was also observed.
