On the Occurrence of Vanadium in Holothurians

Ciereszko LS, Ciereszko EM, Harris ER, Lane CA. 1962. On the Occurrence of Vanadium in Holothurians. Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology. 7:127-129

Vanadium analyses on nine species of holothurians, representing five genera, and including three species of Stichopus, failed to confirm the report of Phillips (1918) of a high concentration of vanadium in holothurians. Vanadium was found only in traces, 12 p.p.m. of dry weight, in the viscera and body fluids of Stichopus japonicus.
