The occurrence of long-distance migration of adult Atlantic green turtles, Chelonia mydas, from their Brazilian feeding grounds to their nesting beaches on Ascension Island is well documented. However, there are few data on the route taken and the environmental cue(s) used in the open-sea navigation to Ascension Island, a 96km^2 island positioned 2300 km east of the easternmost bulge of Brazil.
