A total of 4,687 radio locations was used to determine home range sizes and daily movements of 18 Florida panthers (Felis concolor coryi) from December 1985 through June 1989 in Collier, Hendry, Glades, Highland, Lee, and Hardee counties. Adult male ranges averaged 711.1 km^2, adult females averaged 249.7 km , and subadult males averaged 591.4 km^2. Mean daily movements for adult males, adult females and subadult males were 5.7 km, 2.3 km, and 3.0 km, respectively. Five adult females raised kittens during the reporting period. Day rest sites are primarily dense saw palmetto (Serenoa repens) thickets and other cool, shady, and remote locations. A subadult male has used an area ranging from S.R. 84 to the Caloosahatchee River near Ft. Myers and LaBelle.
