A total of 3,079 radio locations was used to determine home range sizes of 13 Florida panthers (Felis concolor coryi) in Collier, Hendry, Highland, Glades, and Hardee count1es. Adult male ranges averaged 661 Km^2 and adult females averaged 350 Km^2. A subadult female used a 97 Km^2 area. Home range shifts by 2 panthers in the Fakahatchee Strand may have resulted from the loss of 2 adult females and low water levels. Habitat characteristics varied from north to south with higher quality lands more abundant in the northern part of the study area. Female productivity was directly related to prey abundance while female home range size was inversely related to prey abundance.
