The biology of Meoma ventricosa (Echinoidea; Spatangoida) is described on the basis of a two-year study conducted in Florida, the Bahama Islands, Panama, and Colombia. The habitat, behavior, food and feeding, growth, reproduction, predators, parasites, commensals, abnormalities, internal anatomy, and relation to the substrate of this large, abundant echinoid are discussed.
