Effective Pollinators of Rare Plants in the Northern Chihuahuan Desert

Hoyt CA and Poole J. Effective Pollinators of Rare Plants in the Northern Chihuahuan Desert. Research Permit and Reporting System

There is a growing awareness that conservation of the pollinators may be critical to the preservation of the plant. Although some plants may be successful at vegetative reproduction, it is only through sexual reproduction that a population of plants may sustain itself and colonize new habitats. This project monitored the floral visitors and potential effective pollinators of Brongniartia minutifolia in Big Bend National Park.
