GAAR Kobuk River Basin Wetlands

2000. GAAR Kobuk River Basin Wetlands

As part of an interagency agreement between the National Park Service (NPS) and the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), basin characteristics are being determined for a number of watersheds in National Parks of Alaska. The purpose of this data set is to provide the NPS information about wetlands of the Kobuk River Basin to do basic spatial analysis. A GIS coverage of the wetlands of the Kobuk River Basin can be used for habitat analysis, to help understand water chemistry, or in explaining runoff characteristics for a specific stream. More knowledge and understanding of the Kobuk River Basin will help the NPS in making sound management decisions.
