KATM Brooks River Vegetation Annotation
1998. KATM Brooks River Vegetation Annotation
The feature classes in this group layer are derived from the AutoCAD maps produced for the mining and planning programs by the Alaska Regional Office (AKSO). The area to the north of the beaver pond was photogrammetrically mapped in 1991 by a contractor using the NPS surveys and NPS aerial photography. The area to the south of the beaver pond and portion of Brooks Lake shoreline was mapped and monumented from a contract topographic ground and GPS survey in the fall of 1998. The contractor created new final files of the entire Brooks area by moving(translating) the northern photo-mapped files into their new AK State Plane NAD83 files (no rotation or scaling was needed). The falls trail, bear platforms, and bear data were mapped by NPS personnel in 1998 using resource-grade Trimble and PLGR GPS receivers. BLM Cadastral Survey Branch also surveyed and monumented US 7623 in 1997-98.
