KATM Coastal Geomorphology
1999. KATM Coastal Geomorphology
Line coverage depicting shore-zone geomorphological classification of Katmai National Park, meant to form a foundation layer for more geomorphic mapping as well as for cultural and biological GIS layers. 3308 shore units were delineated by Carl Schoch onto 1:12,000 maps of the coastline, derived from 1:63,360 scale, shorelines taken from aerial photography obtained by AHAP missions flown in the mid-1980's. Interpretation of features was aided with the use of 1:12,000 scale black and white aerial photography enlargements. Shoreline units and their accompanied were then digitized and georeferenced from the 1:12,000 scale plots.
