Datasets - Bird and herpetofaunal inventories of eight unit and tract additions to Richmond National Battlefield Park, Virginia
Gates JE and Mackler DG. 2014. Datasets - Bird and herpetofaunal inventories of eight unit and tract additions to Richmond National Battlefield Park, Virginia. National Park Service
These data are the result of an inventory of eight newly-acquired (2004-2008) units or tracts of Richmond National Battlefield Park (RICH). Field work included spring 2009 breeding and over-wintering (2009–2010) seasons for birds; winter-spring (2009–2010) breeding season for owls; spring 2010 breeding season for nightjars and marsh birds. Prior to field work, lists of all species that were likely or expected to be found at each unit or tract were prepared based on previous documentation or suitable habitat. Species presence, distribution, and relative abundance, were determined in a range of different habitat types. These data were summarized in the report "Bird and herpetofaunal inventories of eight unit and tract additions to Richmond National Battlefield Park, Virginia" by Gates and Mackler 2013.
