The enactment of Public Law 587 in 1954 led to the termination of the special status with respect to land and people which had existed between the Klamath Indian Tribe of Oregon and the United States Government. Some of the events which have transpired subsequent to the approval of the Klamath Termination Act as these have affected Klamath people are outlined in summary form.
