Lines depicting geomorphic interpretation of wave energy regimes for coastal areas along Kenai Fjords National Park. Data compiled from ground surveys and digitized by the U.S. Geologic Survey. Coverage depicts Dan Mann's interpretation of wave energy. Wave energy was based on qualitative assessment of fetch, shoreline orientation, shore face gradient, particle size, particle shape, berm characteristics, and type and position of drift material on back shores. Shoreline base coverage derived from Environmental Sensitivity Index, Resource Planning Inc. (RPI). Data automated under a five-year archeological pilot project, which focused on the coastal lands in the parks located in south central and southeastern Alaska.
