1997. KEFJ Shorezone Geology Classification

Lines depicting shore-zone geomorphological classification of Kenai Fjords National Park, meant to form a foundation layer for more detailed geomorphic mapping as well as for cultural and biological resource GIS layers. 750 shore units were delineated by Dan Mann onto 1:12,000 maps of the coastline, derived from 1:63,360 scale, photo-revised shorelines taken from aerial photography obtained by AHAP missions flown in the mid-1980s. Interpretation of features was aided with the use of 1:12,000 scale black and white aerial photography (1992-1994) enlargements. Shoreline units and their accompanied classifiers were then digitized and georeferenced from the 1:12,000 scale plots.
