This dataset was a result of a project to map and describe coastal marsh vegetation of Lake Clark National Park and Preserve (LACL),Alaska. Polygon coverage of salt marsh vegetation types and inventory of coastal marshes along the Lake Clark National Park coastline. Vegetation types were identified on mylar overlays of (1:12,000 scale), black and white, digitally enhanced and georeferenced aerial photography. Field studies were conducted to ground truth air photo delineations and vegetation determinations. Species and physical site characteristics were also described for each of the vegetation types. Characteristics of vegetation types were mapped at a scale of 1:12,000 with a minimum map unit size of 2 ha (5 acres). A hotlink to photos and text files has also been created.
