LACL Ecological Subsections- Physical Groups

2005. LACL Ecological Subsections- Physical Groups

Ecological sucsection units are mapped for Lake Clark National Park and Preserve using manual interpretation of Landsat TM imagery (9/6/99), ancillary data sources and extensive field surveys. Fifteen subsections were mapped, extending beyond park boundaries to the edge of the unit or the image. Subsections are delineated primarily on bedrock and surficial geologic features and processes, with refinements from vegetation and weather patterns. An additional 19 detailed subsections were mapped for major flood plains and coastal units to facilitate inventory survey stratification.
