Salt marsh elevation and vegetation community monitoring site platform construction and installation

Asper J and Curtis T. 2014. Salt marsh elevation and vegetation community monitoring site platform construction and installation

The following Standard Operating Procedure outlines the procedure involved in establishing a platform for salt marsh community monitoring sites. Each site will monitor salt marsh accretion and subsidence, soil salinity, and vegetation species composition, cover, and health. The construction of the platforms enables the installation of the deep rod for the rod surface elevation table (RSET) and other data collection stations to be performed without disturbing the surface of the marsh.
