This study looked at the potential of seagrass beds surrounding many patch reefs in the Florida Keys to elevated reef water pH and hence benefit the growth rate of corals. We found that the answer is yes but the benefit is pretty small although it could become significantly greater if seagrasses benefit from ocean acidification as some studies have found.
