Whitman Mission National Historic Site FFI Fire Effects Monitoring Data

Kopper K. 2014. Whitman Mission National Historic Site FFI Fire Effects Monitoring Data

Fire effects monitoring data collected at Whitman Mission National Historic Site in Washington. The data were collected during summer and fall field seasons by the fire effects monitoring crew out of North Cascades NP from 2000 to present. Data collected from shrub and/or grass transects are 30 meter point intercept data to obtain relative and percent cover. Shrub cover data is also measured in ten 1 meter sq. subplots along the same transect. Photographs are taken from each end of the transect to document change. Data collected from 50 x 20 m forest plots include tree inventory to obtain density and basal area, fuel load using Brown's method for inventorying surface fuels and biomass, seedling density, as well as all shrub transect methods for 50 m transects.
